AN interesting New Media concept would be virtual reality that completely immerses the user in such a way that they feel as though they are in this new reality and not in their home (or wherever they would be using this device). There is some speculation that some sports and entertainment companies are hoping to develop a way to put the audience "in" the arena or movie without having to travel there. This concept would be interesting because it would change the way we consume media in that the user will have the option of changing realities at will without noticing which is true reality.
Enhancing the media experience is always the aim of companies so that people can understand their brand more... I want to see how the sports industry aims to add new contributions to how consumers consume media.
ReplyDeleteHi Eric,
ReplyDeleteI think that would be a cool concept but a very expensive one as well. To function Virtual Reality properly right now, the user must have extremely good equipment to operate it. If these company would like to incorporate more parts of the body to “feel” as though they were there then it would cost the users at least a couple thousands of dollars. However, I do think that it would be an amazing experience for people who can afford it. It would be like 4D experience but better. I would love to see gaming companies incorporate this idea as well.
